Stillness series, shot in a room, Brighton 2020
Taking a moment to breathe without questioning what the future will bring feels like finally living in the present which has never happened before. It feels real to feel yourself. Before, we had plans, we had options, we had dreams and now we have Stillness which feels like the calm before the storm, warm and welcoming and still strange and unexpected.
Stillness series talks about forcing the city, the headbeat, the movement and the touch to stand still and wait. Stay indoors. The human body is seen as an obedient object suspended in time and space until further notice. We spend endless hours looking through the window waiting for another human being to arise to make us feel safe that we are not alone.
